Substrate Effects on Growth Dynamics of WTe 2 Thin films

چکیده

Synthesis of transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) has been achieved through the direct conversion and metal-oxide films, demonstrating ability to grow large area thin films with uniform thickness on a variety substrates control over growth orientation (horizontal vs vertical) TMDC layers. However, synthesized often exhibit small grains are more defective than their bulk counterparts. This is especially true for 2D telluride due low reactivity between tellurium metals such as W Mo. In this work, substrate interactions examined WTe2 converted from amorphous WOx grown by atomic layer deposition, c-plane sapphire SiO2 tellurization at high temperatures. Similar MoTe2, formation monolayer observed, but not SiO2. decreased diffusion compared Mo, flakes instead continuous providing insight into role specific during synthesis films.

Substrate effects on V2O3 thin films

We apply density functional theory and the augmented spherical wave method to analyze the electronic structure of V2O3 in the vicinity of an interface to Al2O3. The interface is modeled by a heterostructure setup of alternating vanadate and aluminate slabs. We focus on the possible modifications of the V2O3 electronic states in this geometry, induced by the presence of the aluminate layers. In ...

Substrate Effects on the Structural Properties of Thin Films of Lead Sulfide

Nanocrystalline PbS thin films are deposited on glass and alumina substratesthrough the chemical bath deposition technique by creating similar conditions, in orderto investigate the effects of the substrate. The structural and optical properties of PbSfilms are investigated by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, and UV–Vis.The structural analyses of the films indicate that they are...

Effect of growth time on ZnO thin films prepared by low temperature chemical bath deposition on PS substrate

ZnO thin films were successfully synthesized on a porous silicon (PS) substrate by chemical bathdeposition method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM),and photoluminescence (PL) analyses were carried out to investigate the effect of growth duration(3, 4, 5, and 6 h) on the optical and structural properties of the aligned ZnO nanorods. T...

Substrate temperature effects on laser crystallized NiTi thin films

Amorphous sputter-deposited NiTi thin films were subjected to pulsed, melt-mediated laser crystallization techniques to engineer their microstructure. The effects of laser processing of preheated films are examined. Laser processing of films at an elevated substrate temperature has a significant effect on the rate with which solidification occurs. It is observed that the preheating temperature ...

Substrate clamping effects on irreversible domain wall dynamics in lead zirconate titanate thin films.

The role of long-range strain interactions on domain wall dynamics is explored through macroscopic and local measurements of nonlinear behavior in mechanically clamped and released polycrystalline lead zirconate-titanate (PZT) films. Released films show a dramatic change in the global dielectric nonlinearity and its frequency dependence as a function of mechanical clamping. Furthermore, we obse...
